I have been in school since 2006. It has been a long time coming but it’s going to be worth it. In my six years of schooling I have acquired an Associate’s of Applied Science in Web Development and in two days I will have a Bachelor’s of Science in Graphic Design. I have learned a lot but because I work so much I have actually lost some of my coding knowledge from the first degree. It sucks but since I was going to school for something similar to my first degree I have been able to brush up on my coding skills and regain the important stuff.
It’s going to be excellent to be done with school but I will only get a three week break. At the end of March I will be starting my Master’s in New Media Journalism. I know, I know, I’m a glutton for punishment but if I don’t finish it now I won’t do it later. I’d rather get everything over and done with. Phew…it’s going to be great but I’m nervous. I keep thinking,
“What if they say my name wrong?”
“What if I shake and grab with the wrong hand?”
“What if I trip on my way to get my diploma? If I trip do I jump up and yell that I’m ok or do I lay there and see if I can disappear to escape my embarrassment?”
These are the things I worry about and yes it’s lame but that’s what crosses my mind. It’ll be good either way and I am currently working on my own personal website that holds my portfolio. If you’d like to get a sneak peek you can go to martinezdesignconcepts but please keep in mind that it’s a work in progress. The homepage is done as well as the blog section but nothing else is up. I am working on it so please be patient. I will be taking mental notes during my graduation and if I happen to fall you better believe I’m going to be blogging about it. Have a good one people!
