5k races are run all the time but did your race leave you with a sense of happiness and the appearance of a Dr. Seuss character? The Color Run, known as the “happiest 5k” by the events web site thecolorrun.com, took place today in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mlive.com reports that, “more than 10,000 people ran through downtown Sunday morning.” The events web site states that the run consists of two simple rules, “1) White shirts (any mostly white T will work great) mandatory at the start line and 2) Color plastered EVERYTHING at the finish!” They go on to say that, “Runner/walkers begin the 5k at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book. By the end, they look like they fell into a Willy Wonka… tie dyed… vat of colored goodness.” The Color Run did not disappoint and proved to be the “happiest 5k” as shown in the video below.
