Good afternoon and welcome back to an awesome episode of the AudioVillains Podcast. Right off the bat I have to give a shoutout to the man himself, Joey “CoCo” Diaz, an amazing talent and comedian. He is going to be at Dr. Grins this Saturday April 12 and we are heading out to see his show. We are going to be at the 8pm show and maybe we can get him to spend a little time with for an episode of humor and knowledge. We would love to have you on the show and if not I know we will have a good time at yours.
On this episode we visit a time when Joey Lawrence was making music and breaking hearts while becoming a man on Beauty and the Beach, a spring break pageant during MTV’s spring break special. We also visit the time of $2,000 sound systems in $400 cars and the Ed Lover dance. This episode is a must listen so check it out and share! As always you can email the show at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The experience of life is an interesting one. You can be at the top living like a king and life can slap you with a reality check and bring you down. Once you’re at the bottom you feel as though you’ll never get out. You fall further and finally you hit rock bottom. From my experience, this is where you find yourself. You figure out what you’re made of and you fight your way back to the top. It’s a long journey. Nothing is perfect and nothing is easy. We don’t have an easy button, though we wish Staples would lend us their’s for our personal use. It takes patience and hard work to live like a king again. I have experienced this and though I have mentioned this in a previous post, it deserves another mention to let people know that it’s possible to make it out of the hole.
With all this said, I am thankful for everything that has happened to me. Yesterday I was having a conversation with my 7 year old while holding my 3 month old daughter about my past. I believe it started out with the topic of factories and how I worked at one before leaving for Florida. The conversation also included time travel and though I’m being vague here, the point of our conversation was that if I had never lost my job I would have never moved to Florida and they would not exist. It took a little bit for him to understand but he got the point. When I think about it now, my life would have been completely different. So ultimately I’m thankful that the factory I worked for contributed to me hitting rock bottom. Had it not been for them laying me off I would not have moved to Florida, and I would have never met my wife or worked at Frostproof Police Department. That job started my whole career and my rise to the top. When talking about this with my son I went deaf for a moment. The thought of not having my family was gut wrenching.
Can you imagine what life would be like if you had made different choices? For me it’s crazy to think but in the end I’m thankful for everything that happened to me in my past. It got me where I am today and I wouldn’t change a thing. Life has blessed me with an excellent job, a wonderful family, and friends I can lean on when in need. I also went back to school and I currently hold an Associates with a concentration in Web Design, a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design that will wrap up in a couple months, and I will be seeking a Master’s in New Media Journalism right after that. I have also been blogging my heart out here. It’s been great doing this and I will continue to do it. It has helped me get my life experience out there, and opened some doors that will help in the future. I am thankful for a lot indeed. A big thanks goes out to my wife Rebecca, who has helped me get through moments where life has thrown a curve ball, to my kids who keep me on my toes and bring me back to my child-like imagination, my family, friends and co-workers who are the best that anyone could ever have, to my new Jabber Log writers who have contributed to fresh material, Candis of EcoBuns, Cassidy of Cassidy Rae Studio, Maddie Larkin, Jackie Green of WGRD who I have had a pleasure of working with and for the shout out that means so much to me, and everyone I have ever come in contact with. My story alone shows that with hard work you too can break out and work your way back from rock bottom. Remember to be thankful for everything that life slaps you with. Whether good or bad you have the ability to make it back. Keep fighting, keep working hard, rise up, and don’t hold back. It’ll be worth it in the end. Keep reading folks and Happy Thanksgiving. Within the Trenches is back with episode 34! This episode was recorded at the National NENA Conference and Expo at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Tony, Deputy Executive Director of the European Emergency Number Association (EENA.) This is a very interesting episode in the sense of differences to the structure of 9-1-1 in Europe over the United States. Tony touches on some of the difficulties Europe is having with implementing new technologies and how phone calls for 112, 999 (9-1-1) are very similar to what we deal with in the states.
For more information on EENA you can follow the links below. As always you can email the show at email@example.com.

What happens to our imagination when we get older? It seems that for most of us our imagination slips from what it used to be when we were children. Sure we can still come up with some good stuff but it doesn’t match our child like imagination. Think about this; if you could have two super powers what would they be? You could have the ability to fly, invisibility, or the speed of light. Having two super powers would be awesome but when we think about what two we would want there is no quick and straight answer. As an adult we begin to think about all the pros and cons followed by going back and forth between different powers. If you were to ask your child he or she would probably get a huge smile on their face and tell you right away what they would want. Their explanation would be grand and you would be able to see the creativity and glow on their face.
Can you see it? That’s the kind of imagination I wish I had still. Listening to my son go all out with his imagination is overwhelming. And don’t get me wrong here. I don’t mean “overwhelming” as in I can’t take the rambling, I mean that it’s amazing how he thinks. It’s like watching your kid experience something for the first time. The way their eyes pop open with interest and excitement. It’s what we all used to have before the world and life took over our lives. Back when we were kids we didn’t have the worries of bills, our job, expenses, and drama. Back then we were free to imagine what we wanted without weighing the pros and cons. So how do we get our imagination back? Personally I turn to music or writing. It’s this that triggers my child like imagination. It’s not full proof but it’s just enough for me to accomplish what I’m trying to do. One song that helps me explore my imagination is “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” by The Beatles. Now I know you’re thinking about the hints of LSD within this song but it was actually based on a drawing of a girl that went to school with John Lennon’s son Julian. His son named the drawing, “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”. Had it not been for the imagination of Lennon’s son the song may have never been.
One’s imagination is something grand indeed. If only there was a way to keep it completely intact. For now I’m going to continue to use different methods to trigger my imagination. My children will delight me with their creative stories and thoughts and finally I will keep asking myself this question; if I could have two super powers, what would they be? How about you? What would you pick for yourself? Think about that for a while and comment to my post. If you need to take a trip to visit the imagination you once had make sure to check out the video I have provided. Besides writing and music, this video is a good way to get the job done.Post Views: 1,057
