Bar Fights & Pepper Spray, A Winning Combination.

How many of you have gone out to a bar for a good time? How about with a group of friends? I'm sure we all have at one time or another but how many of those bar nights ended in chaos? Can you count those nights on one hand? Now, I'm not trying to judge anyone here and say that anyone drinks too much but what I'm getting at when I ask about chaos is the always popular bar fight. So let's run through it, shall we? You start out good and everything is going great but by the time last call comes around, Read more [...]

Hello fellow Jabber Loggers and welcome to an early edition of Tech Thursday. This sneak peek is so awesome that I had to share it a day early. I'm a Walking Dead Junkie and I even have the comics so that I can read ahead. So why is The Walking Dead being mentioned in an early edition of Tech Thursday? Well Read more [...]

Diaper Wars: Florida Edition

Good morning to all! I hope you had a happy and safe St. Patricks Day last night. It's been a while since my last post on Diaper Wars but it's back and today's episode is a Florida Edition. My family and I recently returned from vacation but while I was there and on break a few things that involved our cloth adventure occurred. It was interesting enough that I had to write about it. Before we headed out to Florida I began to worry that it was going to be rather hard to use cloth diapers while Read more [...]

Birth of a Jedi-Lego Designer

8 years ago today my wife and I were blessed with a baby boy. Our little family grew that day and it's been an adventure ever since. Logan is an excellent kid. He's sensitive of others and has a big heart. On top of those qualities he has a great imagination, and his sense of humor and musical taste are superb! He thinks and speaks like an adult and sometimes he catches me off guard. It's pretty funny when it happens and I just chuckle and think, "Yep, that's my boy." Now, in order for you to Read more [...]

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked

Woo! I had a great vacation in Florida with my family and now I'm back and ready to go! I have several stories I want to write about so they will be posted soon. First off I'd like to talk about the fact that I graduated on March 2nd, 2012! Man it feels like it's been forever since I have been in school and well...I guess it has to a point. I now have an AAS in Web Development and a BS in Graphic Design (no my degree is not B-S). It was great meeting some of my classmates and seeing my professors Read more [...]

In two days I will graduate.

I have been in school since 2006. It has been a long time coming but it's going to be worth it. In my six years of schooling I have acquired an Associate's of Applied Science in Web Development and in two days I will have a Bachelor's of Science in Graphic Design. I have learned a lot but because I work so much I have actually lost some of my coding knowledge from the first degree. It sucks but since I was going to school for something similar to my first degree I have been able to brush up on my Read more [...]

Nerves of steel, voice of reason.

Good evening folks. It's been a while since I've written a post for "Within the Trenches". As you may know, I am a supervisor for a 911 center. I've taken many calls that you wouldn't believe and others that would make you cringe. The work my fellow co-workers and I do is accomplished by a level head, common sense, a stern voice, thick skin, and nerves of steel. It's not often that those who work in dispatch, or within the trenches as I call it, receive a lot of kudos. Now, it's not because we don't Read more [...]

From Michigan to Florida in 22 hours

Hello everyone! It's been about two weeks since my last post here and the break was definitely needed. I have been hard at work and between, family, school, work, and personal projects, I really needed to step back a moment and prioritize. During my break I was able to finish school and design my personal website. It will included my portfolio among other items. As of right now I have the homepage and blog portion completed. I just have to finish up on four more pages and it will be revealed to all. All Read more [...]

Top 10 Drug Induced Movies You Must Watch Before You Die

Good morning folks! Before I take my break from blogging to concentrate on my finals before graduation, I'd like to share a post on what I believe is the "Top 10 Drug Induced Movies You Must Watch Before You Die". The movies that made my list range from comedy to drama. Each one of these movies are ones that I could watch over and over. Some are pretty old and others are a little more recent but all in all they fall under my list of classics. So without further ado I bring to you the best of the Read more [...]

Knowing when to throw in the towel.

It's 5:47am and I'm awake. I've been sick since this past Thursday and it sucks! My stomach had been hurting the night before but I have acid reflux and I ran out of my meds so I figured it was just that. I woke up at 3am on Thursday to get ready for work and my stomach was worse. I got to work and everything seemed fine but I had something coming that would take over and hit me like a truck. Between the hours of 7 and 10am I ran to the bathroom. My stomach was pissed off at me and I wanted to cry. Read more [...]
