Fatherhood: One of my greatest achievements.

Good morning and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Today we are honored for the many things we do but most importantly, we are honored for being utterly AWESOME! That’s right, we are awesome! You have worked hard, cut the grass, helped around the house, killed spiders, untightened jars, played house, played with cars, helped around the house, changed a tire, and changed diapers. Phew! Yes you’ve done a lot and no, I’m not taking anything away from the moms out there but today Read more [...]

Tech Thursday: Happy Father’s Day to the Geeky and Tech Savvy

Good evening folks! On today’s edition of Tech Thursday we look at a few gifts for your geeky and tech savvy dad. This Sunday is Father’s Day and if you’re like me you want drool at the sight of awesome and completely dorky tech stuff. I would actually be happy with a 22 ounce porterhouse steak but tech gifts are right up there. So what is your dad like? Is he all about cameras? Is he a coffee drinker? Well I have a few items that you’re dad will dig. Mashable.com and The Huffington Post Read more [...]

Fatherhood – My First Daddy Daughter Dinner

Check out the picture in this post. She's a cutie isn't she? This is my 7 month old daughter Lola. She's growing fast and at times it makes me think about what it will be like when she gets older?Well, as they say, be careful what you wish for. Two days ago I had the pleasure of taking my goddaughter Estrella to a Daddy Daughter Dinner at her church. We were both dressed in our Sunday's best and I was immediately nervous. It was weird because I kept thinking, "What if I embarrass her?" "What Read more [...]

It was like seeing you for the first time…

"There is one pain I often feel, which you will never know. It is caused by the absence of you." I have been searching for the author of this quote. I have found several attached to it but in the end it all means the same. It's something I often feel. I had the wind knocked out of me earlier today. I was not struck physically but the result was the same, the loss of air. I saw you today. And...I have seen you in passing but it was nothing like today. I had just left from a friends house and decided Read more [...]

Soundtrack to my life: Episode I

"The entertainment for this evening is not new, you've seen this entertainment through and through you have seen your birth, your life, your death....you may recall all the rest. Did you have a good world when you died - enough to base a movie on?" — Jim Morrison (An American Prayer) I am 30 years old and I can safely say that I have lived a crazy enough life so far to base a movie on. From what you have read on Jabber Log you might agree that some of the stories would be great to see on film. Read more [...]

OMG! This is a girl not a boy!

As you can tell from my picture I'm in a state of shock. This morning while helping my wife clean the carpets I realized something; we're having a girl not a boy! I don't know what to do with a baby girl! I have two sons and changing them and what not was easy. I believe this was easy because we're the same gender but this is completely different so I'm a little tripped out. So let's see here; I have never used cloth diapers and I will be changing my daughter as much as possible to become an expert Read more [...]

Documenting a new adventure.

Hello fellow Jabber Loggers! If you have read my previous post, "A prelude to the saga" then you know how much of a fool I was during the birth of my son Logan and that my wife is expecting. I also mentioned that the post was simply a prelude to something more. A new adventure has presented itself and I am on board to take it head on. The adventure has been titled, "Diaper Wars: A Father's Tale; May the cloth be with you". Now I'm sure you are wondering what I mean by "cloth" rather than "force" Read more [...]

A prelude to the saga

This is the beginning. The beginning of something new that I shall embark on, but first a prelude to the saga. You like that? You like how I added the title of my post to this? Yep, that's just a taste of the kind of dork I am. So before I get into my upcoming adventure, I'd like to tell you a story. It involves my wife, myself, and the birth our son Logan. The date was March 17, 2004 and we had just left the doctor's office. Our midwife had told us that she would not see us until the following weekend Read more [...]
