Fatherhood – My First Daddy Daughter Dinner

Check out the picture in this post. She's a cutie isn't she? This is my 7 month old daughter Lola. She's growing fast and at times it makes me think about what it will be like when she gets older?Well, as they say, be careful what you wish for. Two days ago I had the pleasure of taking my goddaughter Estrella to a Daddy Daughter Dinner at her church. We were both dressed in our Sunday's best and I was immediately nervous. It was weird because I kept thinking, "What if I embarrass her?" "What Read more [...]

Birth of a Jedi-Lego Designer

8 years ago today my wife and I were blessed with a baby boy. Our little family grew that day and it's been an adventure ever since. Logan is an excellent kid. He's sensitive of others and has a big heart. On top of those qualities he has a great imagination, and his sense of humor and musical taste are superb! He thinks and speaks like an adult and sometimes he catches me off guard. It's pretty funny when it happens and I just chuckle and think, "Yep, that's my boy." Now, in order for you to Read more [...]

Diaper Wars: Beyond the Prefold

Hello and Merry early Clothmas! I realize it has been a while since I wrote on Diaper Wars but I have been occupied with a lot of things lately. Between family, work, school, and the success of Jabber Log, I have been involved with many projects. Luckily I have gathered a team of writers that have done excellent work in helping with the workload. Since the last time I wrote on Diaper Wars a lot has changed. I am still all about cloth diapers but the use of Prefolds has changed. Now, my wife and I Read more [...]

Diaper Wars: The 3 P’s of Parenting

Oh the 3 P's of Parenting. The 3 P's are something that parents and well, I guess anyone who is around kids has to deal with. If you don't know what the 3 P's are, they stand for, Pee, Poop, and Puke. Yes, you did read that right. Everyone has dealt with this one time or another and some more than others. My wife and I have been dealing with this a lot lately. Our daughter will be 2 months old in a few days and this is all she does right now besides looking cute. It's really no big deal but our kids Read more [...]

“It’s only child-proof for kids who can’t read.”

How smart are kids these days? I would say, judging from my 7 year old, that kids are very smart. I'm sure my parents said the same thing when I was younger and I'm sure I thought I was awesome but now I'm the adult and I'm paying for it. My 7 year old Logan comes up with some interesting thoughts and concepts. There are times where I have to have him repeat it because it's so out there, yet logical, that it takes me a moment to wrap my brain around it. He's does great in math and he reads a grade Read more [...]

Diaper Wars: Return of the Disposable

My daughter is almost 4 weeks old now and everything has been great. She has me wrapped around her finger and I don't think I would have it any other way. I have been writing about cloth diapers for a while now and it has been hard coming up with material on the subject. I know I could go and look up different stuff and report on it but I want to write about my personal experience. It had been the same thing day in and day out and I didn't want to bore everyone with the same crap so I had to step Read more [...]

Clothin’ from cover to Snappi

My daughter is just over two weeks old now and it has been going great. She's beginning to sleep a lot more at night and this makes my wife and I very happy. We have been using cloth diapers since day one and they have worked nicely. I did have some mishaps recently that have me wondering how I can do better with this type of diaper. Recently I have learned how to wash my daughters cloth diapers and without the sprayer it's pretty easy. There is a process to washing them and I had to have my wife Read more [...]

Oh how fast it goes…

It's only been about 11 days since my daughter was born. Although it's been a short time I can already see the changes in her. She seems to have grown a bit and she's making all kinds of funny faces. She's a complete snuggle bug and I love it! My older children were the same way but it feels special because she's daddy's girl. Every day has been fun and she's starting to get used to sleeping by herself and chilling by herself while she's awake. Her eyes have not changed completely but if they happen Read more [...]

Parenting and the Art of Aiming.

I meant to type this up last night but I was so overwhelmed with laughter and tending to my baby daughter that I couldn't get through it. So here's the situation; I have a 7 year old who knows how to use the bathroom perfectly but one downside is the fact that he has bad aim. How do you deal with this? He continues to say sorry but the floor falls victim to the stream. I've made him clean it up himself and it seems to work for a while but then he goes back to it. So last night there was a puddle Read more [...]
