Adventure’s In Fatherhood

Being a father has got to be the best job in the world. I mean, don’t get me wrong here. I love being a 9-1-1 professional and all but being a dad? It’s awesome! I have three children and yes I said it, THREE children. If you know my story with my eldest son then you know what’s up and I will always be his dad. There are many adventures that come with being a father and hell, being a parent in general. In this post I want to share some stories with you that makes fatherhood a blast for me. The JCast RandomCast – An encounter with my son

In the past I've written about my eldest son Richie. If you have read my previous posts then you know the story as to why I cannot say who I am to him. I will not go into detail but a couple weeks ago I was face-to-face with him. He looks like me and there is no way that anyone could say that he is not my son. From what I've heard he has my sense of humor and likes some of the same things I do. Some odd things have happened between us and it's something I have to address. When he was either 9 or Read more [...]

Fatherhood: One of my greatest achievements.

Good morning and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Today we are honored for the many things we do but most importantly, we are honored for being utterly AWESOME! That’s right, we are awesome! You have worked hard, cut the grass, helped around the house, killed spiders, untightened jars, played house, played with cars, helped around the house, changed a tire, and changed diapers. Phew! Yes you’ve done a lot and no, I’m not taking anything away from the moms out there but today Read more [...]

Marking the end of 2011

2011 was a great year for me. So many things happened to my family and I this year that it’s hard to capture them all in one post. First off I have to mention a moment that changed my family. That change is sitting in her Bumbo chair drooling and smiling at me. That change is none other than my daughter Lola. On August 29th, 2011 my beautiful princess made her appearance. She’s officially 4 months now and since her birth so many things have happened. She’s growing fast and she looks more and Read more [...]

It was like seeing you for the first time…

"There is one pain I often feel, which you will never know. It is caused by the absence of you." I have been searching for the author of this quote. I have found several attached to it but in the end it all means the same. It's something I often feel. I had the wind knocked out of me earlier today. I was not struck physically but the result was the same, the loss of air. I saw you today. And...I have seen you in passing but it was nothing like today. I had just left from a friends house and decided Read more [...]

12 years ago today…

12 years ago today you were born. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. I cried when you were born and the warmth in my heart was overwhelming. I remember everything about the short time we spent together. You seemed to learn so fast and when I got my turntables you wanted me to lift you so that you could scratch the records along with me. Your mother and I purchased you a set of Rugrats furniture just for you and I remember how much you enjoyed them. You used to sit in the couch and stretch Read more [...]

Soundtrack to my life: Episode III

The other day I heard a song on the radio and I flashed back to one of the worst days of my life. The song is a very good one and is by one of my favorite bands, Pink Floyd. Their song "Wish You Were Here" not only reminds me of that day but I listened to it a lot afterward and it helped to comfort me in a way. Even now I am listening to it as I type this. My entire blog has been meant to be humorous and tell stories of my life and the world so in no way am I trying to be a downer by typing this Read more [...]

Soundtrack to my life: Episode I

"The entertainment for this evening is not new, you've seen this entertainment through and through you have seen your birth, your life, your may recall all the rest. Did you have a good world when you died - enough to base a movie on?" — Jim Morrison (An American Prayer) I am 30 years old and I can safely say that I have lived a crazy enough life so far to base a movie on. From what you have read on Jabber Log you might agree that some of the stories would be great to see on film. Read more [...]
