The JCast MiniCast – Tech Thursday Edition

Hello everyone! I know it's very late and that it's actually Friday but here's the Tech Thursday edition of the JCast MiniCast. This week we look at a human microchip, a Chinese counterfeit handheld gaming system called the Droid X360 and a way to install Apple's OS X Mountain Lion on as many Mac devices as you want without having to purchase a separate download for each one. As always I will post the links to the entire stories at the end of the post. I have also made the executive decision to provide Read more [...]

In Search of Silent Hill

Ever since I was a kid I have had a fascination with all things horror. I know, I'm a weirdo but it's true. I dig what lurks in the darkness and things that go bump in the night. I grew up in Fennville, MI and my house was haunted. Now, I know that not everyone believes in ghosts or haunted houses but this home was definitely haunted. When you're able to hear kids asking for help through the vents, it's something that lets you know you're not alone. There's more to my house but I won't go into it Read more [...]

Tech Thursday: Gaming Crossover

As you all know, I'm a huge video game fan. If I could compare myself to any group it would be the characters of "The Big Bang Theory". If I had to narrow it down, I'd be Leonard. That's right, I'd be the gaming nerd who gets the hot girl. With that aside, I dig gaming so much that I sometimes think about what it would be like if gaming crossed over into reality. I guess it would almost be the equivalent of Toon Town from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It would be pretty crazy if this were possible. Read more [...]

The mobility of Grand Theft Auto 3

Hello fellow Jabber Loggers and welcome to another edition of Tech Thursday! Today we're going to look at a revolutionary game that catapulted the Playstation 2 (PS2) to new heights. When the system came out it seemed like the company could not keep up with the demand. The games were excellent, addicting, and if you had one you were at the top of the food chain. Personally I felt that after the explosion of the PS2 the games became stale but one game hit the streets and my mind was made up. The Read more [...]

Hello and welcome to another edition of Tech Thursday on Jabber Log. Today we welcome "ram0527", a new addition to the team who will be contributing to all things, "Tech". Top 5 NES Games of All Time

Whether you're an avid gamer or not, you have to admit that at one time in your life you played the classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The video game console was introduced in 1986. The system was headlined with Super Mario Bros. and some releases included Duck Hunt. What made this system revolutionary was the use of the zapper that came with it. Ducks would fly from the field and you could shoot them down. If for some reason you missed one of the ducks the dog in the game would stand up Read more [...]

Adventures in Video Gaming.

When I was growing up the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was it. Almost every game was gold and it was fun. Super Mario Bros., Castlevania, Bad Dudes, Duckhunt and others were at the head of the game. My personal favorite was Mega Man and to me this game was the most challenging. The video games of today are awesome and way beyond the games of the NES and Sega Master System age but you can't beat the classics. With all the awesome games that hit in the 80's and 90's, and the pure fun of it, Read more [...]
