Pumpkinfest 2012 – A Night of Music at Vitale’s

For 28 years the city of Zeeland, within western Michigan, has held its annual Pumpkinfest. According to the official brochure, “this family-friendly event has featured a plethora of fall activities, parades, music and more.” One such musical event was held at Vitale’s of Zeeland. The Ongoing Battle With Synthetic Drugs

For decades, the American people have been addicted to drugs whether it be recreational or pharmaceutical. According to drugabuse.gov, “Roughly 1 in 9 youth abused prescription drugs in the past year.” A new type to add to this addiction comes in the form of synthetic drugs. Michigan Joins The Synthetic Bandwagon

June 19 2012, Governor Rick Snyder signed four bills that would ban synthetic drugs. This would include Spice, K2, and Bath Salts. But what took so long for the powers-that-be in Michigan to finally decide that enough was enough? Protest Sparks Interest In Legal High

Zeeland, MI – June 1, 2012 was a day for awareness. About 40 people, according to The Holland Sentinel, “showed up Friday afternoon to join two women in a picket line targeting synthetic marijuana sales at a Zeeland party store.” The women, Anita Cushman, and Lynn Prins, organized the picket line in what the City Clerk confirmed in a recent email to Jabber Log as being the first in Zeeland’s recent history.
